RASHOMON

I went to do some cabaret in Rhodesia in 1963 just before Ian Smith declared Independence 'Unilaterally' !! [UDI ] I refused to take the blame for this !

Salisbury and Bulawayo being the only 2 large cities, Cabaret work was thin and far between.

I added to this by taking a job teaching English and Drama, and things progressed from there.

THE IRON HORSE

After a couple of years I left for South Africa and joined the BRIAN BROOKE THEATRE COMPANY in Johannesburg where I appeared in many plays, and toured extensively as well.

I also teamed up with Hal Orlandini, appearing every night at the IRON HORSE NIGHTCLUB.

It was this that led to our subsequent TV shows in years to come.
